ROKETSAN Highlights Its Vision for Independent Access to Space at IAC 2026

At IAC 2026, ROKETSAN is presenting the systems and solutions it has developed in line with Türkiye’s vision for independent access to space to institutions and organizations from across the global space sector. ROKETSAN is participating as one of the main sponsors of the 77th International Astronautical Congress, hosted by Türkiye for the first time.

ROKETSAN, which is presenting the systems and solutions it has developed in line with Türkiye’s vision for independent access to space to the international space ecosystem at IAC 2026, is taking part in the event as one of the congress’s main sponsors.

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci said they were very pleased that IAC 2026, which brings together global space activities and institutions, is being held in Türkiye, adding that ROKETSAN continues its efforts to develop platforms capable of carrying satellites and other payloads that Türkiye will send into space.

ŞİMŞEK-1 and ŞİMŞEK-2 to Pave Türkiye’s Way to Space

İkinci said, “Our ŞİMŞEK-1 and ŞİMŞEK-2 platforms will pave the way for Türkiye in space as the main systems through which we can establish a capability to reach space from our own country. Our ŞİMŞEK platforms will place us among countries capable of carrying satellites into space, while also enabling us to support friendly and brotherly countries in this field.” İkinci added that ROKETSAN has Türkiye’s largest engineering team working in the space field and is also one of the country’s most capable institutions in terms of technical infrastructure.

Through its centre of excellence, inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2020, ROKETSAN also contributes to the development of qualified human resources in the field of space technologies, while continuing its efforts to build a broad ecosystem and cooperation network for the development of space technologies.

In this context, ROKETSAN cooperates with public institutions, universities and partners in the defence industry. R&D activities in numerous fields, including sub-technologies, are carried out in close coordination with the defence industry and universities.
