Options for Croatia, which wants to change the MiG-21 jet fleet, are increasing. Zagreb's plans to buy second-hand F-16 Netz from Israel was caught in the US barrier. Sweden then proposed 12 new Gripen C/D fighter jets to Croatia.
France has also announced an offer to Croatia. Paris has proposed 12 Rafale aircraft serving in the Air and Space Forces (Armée de 'Air et de l'Espace) to Croatia. Greece is also known to want to supply a total of 18 Rafale, 12 of which are second-hand.
Croatian Defence Minister Mario Banožić said the selection of aircraft will be announced on December 12th.
