NATO vessels conducted training activities in Egyptian territorial waters.

Ships under Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), have visited Egypt's Port of Alexandria on December 2-4. Following the visit, SNMG2 platforms left the port and carried out a series of training activities, including helicopter operations and replenishment experiences. ENS Aleksandria frigate, ENS Soliman Ezzat missile boat and ENS Shalatin replenishment ship took part in the trainings, which were conducted to increase interoperability between NATO and Egyptian Navy.

NATO said that Egypt was a NATO partner and NATO ships regularly visit Egyptian ports during routine patrol missions. The statement also mentioned that such port visits offer new opportunities to increase cooperation.
