The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, indigenously developed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics, will soon be equipped with Meteor-class beyond visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) systems to enhance its capabilities, local news agencies reported. The Indian Air Force has ordered missiles required for 83 Mark 1A Tejas fighter jets.
The request for proposal (RFP) has been issued by the Indian Government. developed by MBDA, Meteor missiles can reach a speed of Mach 4 and a range of over 100 km.
