According to the Military Balance 2019 handbook published by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, over 1,025 T-90S tanks are operational in the Indian Army at present. As a result of the agreement reached with Russia, it was announced in February that the contract for the platform produced under the license will be extended until 2028. Thus, India, which can produce 400 more tanks, is planned to sign the agreement in the next few months.
