Germany Publiced Intensions

Turning to the puzzle of the decision to be made for the platform that will replace Tornado and Eurofighter Typhoon T1 aircraft at the end of their useful life, Germany has announced its official intentions for the first time about the process.

German State Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer made a statement regarding the aircraft that were on the agenda for the German Air Force (Luftwaffe). Minister; said that on April 21, 93 Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 4 and 30 F/A-18 Super Hornets will be  procured. In addition, it was announced that 15 EA-18G Growler acquirement were planned within the scope of NATO LuWES (Luftgestützte Wirkung im Elektromagnetischen Spectrum) requirement. F/A-18F Super Hornets with B-61 certification are evaluated for the nuclear attack role to be discharged from the Tornadoes.

Karrenbauer also announced that it is planned to take in the inventory of FCAS platforms that continue with the German-French partnership in the 2040s.
