Japan-based Mitsubishi Electric may have been cyber-attacked. Japan, which has started work against China's military structure, has opened the bidding process for the latest technology-equipped missile project.
Mitsubishi Electric's missile design was leaked, Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported. According to Asahi, the ministry suspects that performance requirements that were sent to several defence-industry companies as part of the bidding process for the project. The apparent cyberattack on the electronics company may have disclosed details on the range, propulsion and heat resistance of the weapon. The Japanese Defence Ministry said investigations into the attack had begun.
Earlier this year, it was claimed that China had engaged in a cyber-attack against Mitsubishi Electric.
