Lockheed Martin, who has moved to a new working order due to the virus, announced that the supply process would be disrupted in the F-35 Lightning II program. On the Fort Worth production line in Texas, 2,500 employees last week began working shifts in three groups. At the end of two weeks, the work volume will decrease in the process of being put on leave of shift workers.
In Italy, which agreed with the United States for a total of 90 F-35s, the purchase of planes was on the agenda due to post-virus economic problems. Italy's Defence Ministry said this was not the case, and that the cuts in the defence budget would not be affected by the process. Italy has taken over 15 F-35 aircraft, including 12 F-35As and three F-35Bs. The final installation of the platforms is being completed at Cameri Air Base in the north of the country. The line was closed for two days because the number of COVID-19 cases was high in the area where the base is located.
