There has been a new development in AKKOR Active Protection System deliveries which was developed indigenously by ASELSAN for the protection of Altay Main Battle Tank.

The first prototype delivery of AKKOR was to take place in 2020 under the 2015-contract signed between Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) and ASELSAN. However, AKKOR system is slated to be delivered this year, according to the company's 2017 Annual Report.

ASELSAN included AKKOR Active Protection System among the projects to be delivered in 2018 in its annual report. The document, which provided information on the project, also included information on continuing efforts to develop hard-kill radar to carry out detection and tracking of RPG and Anti-Tank guided missiles with high accuracy.
