The U.S. Department of Defense (the Pentagon) announced that two major contracts have been signed with Boeing, covering the procurement of next-generation F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force and logistical support activities for the U.S. Air Force’s E-4B “Doomsday” aircraft fleet.
Up to 50 New F-15IAs to Be Delivered to Israel
According to the statement made by the Pentagon, Boeing has received a critical contract with a ceiling value of USD 8.57 billion under Israel’s F-15 program. Conducted within the framework of Foreign Military Sales (FMS), this agreement includes the design, integration, testing, and production of 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force. The contract also contains an option for an additional 25 aircraft, bringing the projected total delivery to 50 aircraft.
With the announcement of the contract, an initial payment of USD 840,000,000 was allocated. The design and production activities, to be carried out at Boeing’s facilities in St. Louis, Missouri, are targeted for completion by December 31, 2035. The program’s primary operational management center will be Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
USD 4.2 Billion in Logistical Support for the E-4B Fleet
Another significant development announced by the Pentagon concerned the E-4B “Advanced Airborne Command Post” aircraft in the U.S. Air Force inventory. Boeing received a USD 2.7 billion increase to its existing contract for contractor logistics support services for these aircraft, raising the total contract value to USD 4.2 billion.
This update, approved at the end of December 2025, covers vital services such as programmed depot maintenance, major material management, engine support, and super high frequency system integration laboratory support. The work, to be carried out in Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska, is planned to be completed by fiscal year 2027. The activity center for this project has been designated as Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
