The new address of US troops stationed in Germany will soon be revealed. U.S. President Donald Trump announced in early June that 9,500 U.S. troops stationed in Germany would withdraw.
The U.S. Department of Defence will present its plan for the troops to President Trump. Accordingly, the Pentagon is proposing to reduce the number of troops stationed in Germany to 25,000. Defence Minister Mark Esper's plan includes shifting troops to the Eastern European country.
Some of the U.S. troops stationed in Germany are returning to the United States, while the rest will be sent to former Soviet Bloc countries, according to two senior Pentagon officials. The deployments will not be carried out under NATO auspices, officials said, and the White House will lead the process of bilateral agreements with the countries.
According to President Trump, Poland is one of the countries where troops will be deployed.
