Countdown for KC-46

The US Air Mobility Command made statement on the KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling tanker. In the statement, it was stated that 94% of the tests required for military certification of the aircraft were completed. It was also stated that if everything went well and the weather was convenient, all the tests could be completed in less than 60 to 70 days.

In December, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified the Boeing 767-2C which KC-46 Pegasus is based on. The 767-2C is equipped with the necessary equipment version of standard Boeing 767 aircraft to become a tanker. During the test, more than 4500 hours of flight took place.

The KC-46's remote-controlled boom system offers greater convenience in refueling reduced radar cross section area jets such as F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II.
