Two important Steps for TF-X

Two important stages were passed in the Turkish Fighter Jet (TF-X) program, of which Turkish Aerospace Industry (TUSAS) is the main contractor. Strategic Cooperation agreements were signed with HAVELSAN and TR Motor, which designed the software and TF-X's serial production engine. TUSAŞ also decided to cooperate with Spain-based Artificial on flight control systems.

A challenging schedule awaits TF-X aircraft. The plane will make its roll-out, make the maiden flight, and prepare for the delivery process while the main engine is developing. In this context, in the first phase of the project, the first flights will take place with the General Electric F110 engine, which powers the F-16s. Meanwhile, TR Motor will continue its original engine studies. HAVELSAN will also provide support for the development and certification of engine avionic control units. In these systems, the local and national Real-Time Operating System (GIS) developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM will be used. With the contract signed between TÜBİTAK and HAVELSAN in August, the rights regarding the promotion, dissemination, marketing, sales, training, development of card support packages, field support, maintenance and maintenance activities of GİS in Turkey and abroad were licensed to HAVELSAN.

HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar said that the design and test verification infrastructures of the plant and control models will be established and computer-based design tools will be developed to meet the needs of TR Motor. TR Motor General Manager Osman Dur stated that he believes that cooperation will yield good results.

On the other hand, Spain-based company Artificial Intelligence Structures SA announced that it has signed a contract worth 2.5 million Euros with TAI. According to the statement made by Artificial, the contract includes the design and production of eight flight control rods and the determination of the company as the preferred supplier for the future production of 200 products.
