Philippines to Monitor China from the Air

An agreement has been reached between Japan and Philippines for aerial reconnaissance and surveillance radar. Under the contract, three long-range air defence radars and mobile air defence radars will be delivered to the Philippines. Philippines will pay $103.5 million for systems that will be included in the inventory as part of the Horizon 2 procurement project.

Japan will be able to get information from Chinese platforms with radars to be deployed to the Philippines.

The radars are scheduled to be delivered to the Philippines from 2022.
