Ballistic Missile Trial

New generation ballistic missile development and test studies are continuing both to replace the systems that end of their economic life and within the scope of new requirements.

Lockheed Martin, one of the leading manufacturers of the United States, recently added a new one to its launch trial activities. As part of the US Army's Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Program, the trial was conducted at the White Sands Missile Range based in New Mexico. It was stated that the test was the third and last launch planned within the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction Phase.

Launched from the HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) system, it was announced that PrSM reached its target at 85 km range with a very stable flight and destroyed the area with high precision. As a new generation surface-to-surface missile, PrSM can be launched from M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS platforms. The missile, which increases the safety coefficient with its insensitive structure, offers suitable solutions for needs thanks to its modular structure. The system can be effective at 499+ km range.
