The Royal Air Force received the first Eurofighter Typhoon with integrated Project Centurion weapon package.

Within BAE Systems' integration activities, aircrafts gained ability to use tMeteor beyond the visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) and MBDA production Storm Shadow missiles. During the first phase of the project, a total of 26 units will be upgraded to Centurion level. After this program, aircrafts can use Paveway IV, Storm Shadow, Meteor and Brimstone together. Regards to Project Centurion, Royal Air Force will not loose ground-attack capability following the retirement of Tornado GR4, which will begin retiring early 2019.

The Centurion package will first be integrated into the aircraft that has applied the Typhoon Phase 2 of Enhancement (P2E). After the P2Es, P3E aircarfts will have Centurion upgrades after ongoing Brimstone tests. The United Kingdom plans to upgrade all designated aircraft to Centurion level by the end of 2018.

There are 51 Tranche 1, 67 Trance 2 and 10 Tranche 3 Typhoon in the Royal Air Force inventory. Planning to supply 30 more Tranche 3, UK will continue to use 24 Tranche 1 to provide air defence..
