The United Kingdom could change its plan to buy the F-35 Lightning II. London, which says it will add 138 fighter jets to its inventory in total, is said to be able to buy 70 platforms in total. Sources close to the government said the report in the Times. Sources said London could only allocate enough budgets to carry out half of its purchase plan.

There is not enough funding for the purchase of the F-35, according to a recent report by the UK National Inspection Office.

The Ministry of Defence initially ordered 48 jets, but no further delivery commitments were made. London's inventory currently has 18 F-35s.
