The U.S. government has approved possible Foreign Military Sales to Japan of the AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). The sale cost, which includes 32 AIM-120C-8 missiles in total, is estimated to be approximately $63 million.

Raytheon is the main contractor of the missile, equipped with a high-blown, piece-of-track warhead.
