The US Air Force (USAF) has announced that cyber gaps have been detected in external support units of F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Studies have been initiated to eliminate these gaps.

Lockheed Martin reported that the platform, which is relatively safe, is protected by multi-layer security systems. However, it was reported that Autonomic Logistics Information System and Joint Reprogramming Environment systems are not safe enough. In addition, simulators are offering gaps to hackers and the they need to take precautions.

The key examination phase for the F-35 Lightning II program starts this week. All required programs will be tested for cyber attack scenarios.
