With the former Head of CIA, Mike Pompeo and Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Relations as well as UN Ambassador during the George W. Bush era, John Bolton, becoming Secretary of State and National Security Adviser respectively, it seems that the neocon establishment has finally taken hold of the Trump Administration. The onset of this process can be dated back to the appointment of Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador and James Mattis as Defence Minister in 2017. Thus Donald Trump, who had promised isolationism in foreign policy and interventionism blatantly displays a U-turn. The common denominator of those newly appointed personnel is a staunch antagonism towards Iran… Indeed, the Trump Administration has already repudiated the nuclear deal on May 8, signed with Iran back in 2015…
