Afghanistan is to receive eight ScanEagle unmanned aerial systems (UASs), the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 28 March. The $47 million contract award will add to the 13 systems already contracted and includes contractor support and other services. The ScanEagles will be delivered to the country in 2019.
