International Trade Manager of Canik (Samsun Yurt Savunma) Didem Aral, which the manufacturer of TP9 family pistols, has been a guest on C4Defence's social media account. Aral answered questions about the 12,7 mm heavy machine gun studies.

Having achieved the success of exporting different types of products to many countries around the world, the company gave the good news of 12.7 mm heavy machine gun. The company, which established the Unidef and Unirobotics brands to carry out studies in different areas, announced that a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun was developed within the framework of the agreement signed with the Presidency of Defence Industries in the past years. It is stated that the ballistic tests of the new weapon are still continuing, and the year 2021 was marked for mass production. It was also announced that different versions of the weapon would be developed.

It was stated that the the weapon will be 100% indigenous.
