The prototype test of the TJ300, the Medium-Range Domestic Missile Engine developed by TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) for ROKETSAN, was successfully carried out. Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank participated in the test held at TEI's facility in Eskisehir. Minister Varank, who gave information about TJ300, also gave the good news for GÖKBEY, the multirole helicopter.
TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Akşit promised that GÖKBEY's engine will be delivered to TUSAS this year. “TEI will begin work on the integration of the engine to be used in GÖKBEY after this delivery.” Minister Varank said. In accordance with the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), TEI produces the TS1400 turboshaft engine of the GÖKBEY helicopter developed by the Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) within the scope of the Original Helicopter Program. TS1400 uses the “Accessory Gear Box” (ADK) developed by Alp Aviation.
Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, General Manager of TUSAŞ, who participated in C4Defence's live broadcast, announced that the first delivery of the helicopter will be carried out on October 29, 2021. The helicopter made its maiden flight in 2018.
