The Russian Defence Ministry signed a supply agreement with JSC Sukhoi Company. The agreement is signed for procurement of 12 Su-57s. Deputy Minister of Defence Aleksey Krivoruchko, reported that “The order for the first 12 aircraft has been approved and deliveries will begin shortly.” in his statement.
The Su-57, which will be produced at the company's Komsomolsk-na-Amur (KNAAPO) plant, made its maiden flight in 2010. Aircraft's first prototype is delivered to the Russian Air Force for the first prototype tests in 2014. Su-57 has a maximum take-off weight of 37,000 kilograms. Platform is powered by two NPO Saturn engines equipped with 3D nozzle vectoring systems that independently controllable of each other, has a range of 5,500 kilometers and a service altitude of 20,000 meters. The first batch of the Su-57s, which also has a supercruise feature, is scheduled to put into the Russian Air Force inventory in 2019.
