France has taken action for logistical support fleet which are end of their useful life. In this context, the French Directorate General of Armaments made a statement to the OCCAR (Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d'Armement / Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation).
France signed an agreement to procurement of four logistics support vessels. In this context, Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Naval Group of France will build four replenishment vessels. The platforms to be built in accordance with the EUR 1.7 billion agreement signed under the French FLOTLOG program will be adapted to the needs of France via Vulcano class ships built in Fincantieri Shipyard. According to France's 2019-2025 Military Planning, the first two platforms will be delivered in 2025.
