Taiwan recently announced that the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) aircraft were intercepted. On March 16, Beijing's J-11 fighters and KJ-500 airborne early warning aircraft approached Taiwan's air space dangerously, and Taiwan-made F-16 Fighting Falcons took off with a scramble alarm.
Taipei has raised the alarm level for some time now, due to China's increasing training and exercise activities in the region.
