The US Department of Defense announced that the Navy will commission its newest guided-missile destroyer, the future USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) during a ceremony on 24 March at Columbus Street Pier in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 65th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer to be commissioned, USS Ralph Johnson was launched on 12 December 2015 and christened on 2 April 2016, during ceremonies at the Huntington Ingalls Industries shipyard.
