June 23, 2020Modernized MBRL Delivery

Serbia continues to study on enhancing and modernizing army capabilities.
The Serbian Armed Forces continues to advance in the process of modernizing the vehicles in its inventory. With the ceremony held recently, the army received the modernized Oganj 122 mm multi-barrel rocket launcher (MBRL) system. The platform called M-77 in the armed forces stock system was developed for the Yugoslav Army in the 1970s.
M-77 Oganj, which is reported to receive one and a half batteries by the Serbian Army, is equipped with the new INS (inertial navigation system), digital infrastructure and digital communications systems. The improvements make MBRL ready to launch in three minutes with the loaded barrel. In the mechanical infrastructure, this time was specified as 26 minutes. The platform, which has 32 barrels, can launch rockets to 20,600 metres range. Serbian Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said that the next step in the roadmap for artillery rocket systems is modular Oganjs. In this way, it was emphasized that the platform will have the ability to launch new rockets in Serbian inventory that can reach 40 to 50 km range.
