Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries, announced a new development in the Main Battle tank of Altay, which has experienced engine disruptions.
Answering the questions of M5 Magazine, Prof. Dr. Demir informed that Altay was starting production.
Against the sensations that six Altai tanks were produced, Demir stated that “six units cannot be said to have been produced precisely because of the number of spare engines”.
At the end of May, Prof. Dr. Demir stated that an alternative solution would be reached for the engine shortage on the platform. The start of production using power packages planned to be supplied ready from abroad for prototype works was on the agenda.
