Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about his country's capabilities against hypersonic weapons. In a statement, Putin said Russia would soon be in a position to counter the hypersonic weapons deployed by other countries. He added that Moscow is ahead of the United States in developing new types of weapons.
Last year, Russia deployed its first hypersonic nuclear capability missile. The Pentagon will only have hypersonic capabilities in the early 2020s.
