In Füzuli, which was occupied by the Armenian Army on August 23, 1993, the Armenians destroyed even the cemeteries and used them to strengthen the trenches by removing the tombstones.

The Azerbaijani Army, which saved Füzuli from the occupation on 17 October, could not find a single standing building to plant a flag in the city, and had to put the flag on a broken wall.
