K130’s Keep RAMming

German Navy has signed a supply agreement with RAM-System GmbH (RAMSYS). Under the agreement, there will be 10 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) launchers will supply for second-batch K130 Class corvettes. There is also agreement on the integration of the systems onto vessels and the necessary technical support.

The German and US Navy have jointly developed a RAM system to defend ships against anti-ship missiles. RIM-116 RAM is preferred bay eight different navy along US and German Navys.

RAM-System GmbH (RAMSYS), which was formed in partnership with Diehl Defence, MBDA Germany and Raytheon, is capable of attacking with targets from a distance of nine kilometers, at a speed of 2.5 Mach.
