The SARB-83 Consecutive Penetrating Aircraft Bomb, designed as concrete piercing ammunition for use against underground and above targets, has been tested.

THE SARB-83 developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE (Defence Industry Research and Development Institute) was tested against reinforced concrete. “For the first time in Turkey, live munitions with successive penetrating technology have been tested,” Republic of Turkey, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank announced the development.

The next generation of ammunition, which can be used with thermobaric explosives with different warhead features, has managed to drill reinforced concrete in HABRAS Dynamic Testing Infrastructure.

SARB-83 can pierce the concrete of about 1.8 meters and destroy the contents, TÜBİTAK SAGE Manager Gürcan Okumuş said.
