Capable of streaming up to four HD video feeds simultaneously, this advanced mission equipment transforms the aircraft into a fully connected command center for all missions, from maritime patrol to reconnaissance operations.
General Atomics AeroTec Systems (GA-ATS) has formed a strategic partnership with SVP Aerospace to enhance the Do228 NXT data transmission capabilities of its special mission aircraft.
General Atomics AeroTec Systems has collaborated with Spanish technology provider SVP Aerospace to enable seamless Do228 NXT data transmission and sharing between naval, land, and air units via the Do228 NXT platform. As a result of this partnership, the aircraft will be equipped with high-stability, low-latency data transmission solutions. These solutions are intended for critical operations.
Advanced Mission Equipment and Data Flow
SVP Aerospace’s technology enables Do228 NXT operators to transmit up to four HD video streams or a single UHD stream simultaneously. Additionally, operators will be able to route critical information—such as metadata, coordinates, live imagery, and infrared data—to different units. This transfer is managed through selected communication paths, ensuring secure and efficient Do228 NXT data transmission.
Three Different Data Link Solutions
As part of the partnership, three main Do228 NXT data transmission methods will be integrated into the aircraft:
- IP Satellite Data Link: Provides global satellite coverage for remote areas and long-range missions.
- IP Cellular Data Link: Offers 5G connectivity via standard SIM cards, delivering high performance especially in low-altitude operations.
- AVS RF Antenna (Line-of-Sight): Provides cost-effective and reliable communication within line-of-sight operations, with a range of up to 160 kilometers.
Operational Flexibility
These systems can be used individually or simultaneously depending on mission requirements. With this capability, the Do228 NXT becomes a fully connected platform designed around advanced Do228 NXT data transmission. As a result, the aircraft offers real-time data transmission for maritime patrol, search and rescue, environmental monitoring, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
