The General Directorate of Shipyards (TGM) and Navantia have signed a 3+3 year framework agreement to ensure the operational continuity of TCG ANADOLU. The agreement aims to maximize the vessel’s combat readiness by covering on-site technical support for its complex systems and equipment, planned maintenance management, and personnel training processes.
The framework agreement, signed in Ankara, covers the maintenance, repair, technical support, and training processes of TCG ANADOLU. The agreement is valid for three years and is extendable for an additional three years. Moreover, it offers a flexible contract structure that allows the Turkish Navy to procure services either periodically or on an as-needed basis.
Scope of Technical Support and Training
Under the agreement, Navantia will provide on-site support, remote technical assistance, updates to technical documentation, and specialized training. These services aim to maintain the platform’s systems at the highest operational level.
TCG ANADOLU and Navantia Cooperation
TCG ANADOLU, based on the Navantia design (LHD Juan Carlos I), was built at SEDEF Shipyard in Istanbul with technology transfer and engineering support provided in 2015. The platform is equipped with five Navantia-manufactured diesel generator sets and the Platform Control System (IPMS) developed by Navantia Sistemas. In addition, this new agreement was signed in addition to the spare parts supply contract in force since 2023. It continues the technical cooperation between the Directorate General of Shipyards and Navantia.
