Raytheon, part of RTX, has signed a $168 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract to supply Romania with Patriot air and missile defense system equipment. The agreement includes radars, command and control systems, launchers, as well as various support and test equipment.
European Security and Readiness
Pete Bata, Senior Vice President of Raytheon Global Patriot, said: “Our focus is to provide proven capabilities to support readiness across Europe and enhance collective security.”
Patriot, which forms the backbone of air defense in 19 countries worldwide, is the only land-based system proven effective against cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and advanced aerial threats.
This contract marks Romania’s second Patriot order within a year. Additionally, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain have placed additional Patriot orders in 2025 to expand their inventories.
