President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, provided information regarding the Air Defense and Missile Systems Signing Ceremony in a statement made on his social media account.
According to President Görgün’s announcement, contracts that will advance the air defense capabilities of the Turkish defense industry have been signed. It was stated that the total value of the contracts is approximately 6.5 billion dollars.
Prof. Dr. Görgün stated that these agreements will contribute to the following points:
• Increasing the operational power of the Turkish Armed Forces,
• Strengthening air defense security,
• Enhancing the global competitiveness of domestic and national technologies.
The statement noted that the signed contracts are “a step that strengthens the steel dome and deepens the layered air defense architecture,” and that they “will strategically contribute to security by increasing the deterrence of our heroic soldiers.”
President Görgün emphasized that the momentum achieved over the past 23 years under the leadership of the President has transformed into a defense ecosystem that develops its own systems, uses them in the field, and exports them to friendly countries.
The Ministry of National Defense, the Turkish Armed Forces, ASELSAN and ROKETSAN families, as well as all stakeholders who contributed to the projects, were thanked.
The statement concluded with the words: “Türkiye is determined to reinforce its sky dome with its own hands.”
