During the session held during 9th Defence Technologies Congress at METU, ZAHA's last version has presented for the first time. Burak Sağ, who made a presentation on behalf of the FNSS within the scope of the session, shared an image of ZAHA, one of the projects of the company, unveiled the lasets pictures of platform. The Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicles (Zırhlı Amfibi Hücum Araçları / ZAHA) Project, which has been supplied by the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries (SSM) to meet the amphibious armored vehicle needs of the urkih Navy, is being developed in line with the domestic development model. FNSS will deliver a total of 27 vehicles, including 23 armored personnel carriers, 2 command control vehicles and 2 armored recoery vehicles.
The technical characteristics of the ZAHA have been determined by taking into account the operational concept and mission requirements defined by the Turkish Navy. The vehicles are aimed to be superior to similar ones in terms of number of personnel carried, ballistic and mine protection level, land and water performance criteria.
ZAHA will be able to transfer marines to the land from 15 nautical miles away. Designed to be capable of self-correction at sea, 7 nautical miles per hour in the sea and capable of handling 2.5 meters of waves (Sea State 4), the vehicle will be 8,3 meters long and 3.3 meters wide. The platform, which can reach up to 300 kilometers range, will have a remote controlled weapon station equipped with a 12.7 millimeter machine gun and a 40 millimeter auttomatic grenade launcher.
