The Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSIK) is gathering today at 14 o'clock under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The first meeting of 2018 will take place according to the regulation of the Decree of December 24, 2017, which links the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) to the Presidency. Under the new arrangement, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will chair the meeting.
It is expected that the Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle Program will be on the agenda in SSİK. Even though there is an expectation in the public that a serial production decision for Altay Main Battle Tank might come up, some do not think it is likely. According to the information received, the latest and best price quotations from three companies that submitted bids for SSM tender have not yet been received. The companies are expected to bid until February 6th. The SSİK was last held on 2 November 2017 at the SSM in the Presidency of the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
