We spoke with ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci, who is also in the Turkey Space Agency’s Board of Directors, about companies’ space targets and projects.
C4Defence: In the meeting held with press members in Ankara Lalahan, it was announced that ATMACA has reached the final stage. Has mass production started? You mentioned that there are studies for the surface-to-surface version of ATMACA. How is the process progressing?
Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci: Our ATMACA missile has passed dozens of tests so far, it is now in the mass production phase. In 2021, we will start making ATMACA deliveries to our ships in the inventory of our Naval Forces Command. Our missile faced tremendous interest before even deliveries started. Many countries are already requesting to meet with us for ATMACA. This would be an indication of a serious contribution to the success of the country’s exports in the defense industry as well as Turkey’s economy in the future. The total export of our country is now at a satisfactory point, but we believe this will reach exponentially better levels in the next five years. ROKETSAN is proud on behalf of Turkey.
