Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) delivered the first T129 ATAK helicopter of the General Directorate of Security (Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü/ EGM) at a ceremony.
Head of Turkey’s Defence Industries Presidency İsmail Demir stated at the ceremony that the platform’s electronic warfare and counter-precautionary ability has been increased. “A large number of national equipment and weapons system, especially the central duty computer, are produced domestically. Today, the ATAK helicopter is actively stationed at the site of the operation with its domestic smart munitions and firepower,” Demir said.
Director General of the Security Mehmet Aktaş said the helicopter, which was taken into the Aviation Department fleet, will be managed based in Ankara.
It is also shared that two helicopters will be delivered to the EGM in March and nine by the end of 2022.
