HURJET is preparing to make its mark on Spanish skies not only with its aerial maneuverability but also with its AI-powered Mission Planning System, which forms its digital brain. Additionally, the FSGP (Flight and Mission Planning System) developed by HAVELSAN, offering next-generation capabilities ranging from network-enabled munitions management to low-observability planning, is being transferred to the heart of Europe alongside Turkey’s first jet trainer aircraft export.
Turkish Air Force’s Expertise Moves to Spain
The Mission Planning System (FSGP), developed by HAVELSAN since 2003 and actively used since 2007, serves as the primary planning platform for aircraft and munitions in the Turkish Air Force inventory. This proven national solution combines mission planning, mission evaluation, and post-mission analysis processes under a single roof.
As part of the HURJET export contract signed with Spain, this critical software package, which determines the aircraft’s operational capability, will be included in the delivery. HURJET is scheduled to enter service in Turkey in 2027 and in Spain in 2028.
Next-Generation Integration for KAAN and HURJET
The FSGP system is being optimized not only for current platforms but also for Turkey’s next-generation air power:
- HURJET: The system is planned to be fully integrated with the aircraft in the near future.
- KAAN: Integration activities for the National Combat Aircraft are successfully ongoing.
- Training Simulators: In addition to the aircraft, HAVELSAN will also deliver a “Full Mission and Flight Training Simulator” for the Turkish Air Force this year. These simulators will also be exported to Spain together with HÜRJET.
Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Mission Capability
Fully compliant with international standards, the Mission Planning System features an architecture designed to meet all the requirements of the modern battlefield. The system’s prominent capabilities include:
- Smart Weapon and UAV Planning: Integrated planning support for unmanned aerial vehicles and network-enabled munitions.
- Advanced Data Management: Electronic magnetic emission planning, infrared search and track (IRST), and next-generation data link integration.
- AI Support: The ability to orchestrate complex multi-missions of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles (MUM-T) with artificial intelligence assistance.
This national software, to be exported alongside HURJET, will once again certify Turkey’s success in creating a software-based force multiplier in the defense industry on the international stage.
