Fergani Space Technologies, founded by Baykar Chairman of the Board and CTO Selçuk Bayraktar, successfully launched its second satellite, FGN-100-D2, developed entirely with national engineering capabilities, into space on the morning of November 2, 2025, at 08:09 Türkiye time.
The launch was carried out from the Cape Canaveral SLC-40 Base in the United States.
Selçuk Bayraktar confirmed that FGN-100-D2, the second satellite of the Fergani Space initiative, successfully reached orbit. He stated that FGN-100-D2 serves as a test satellite for the upcoming Uluğ Bey Global Positioning System, and was entirely developed by Fergani’s team of engineers.

Uluğ Bey Global Positioning System Targeted
Founded in 2022, Fergani Space continues its journey with a team of 135 engineers, aiming to contribute to the country’s space endeavors. Bayraktar emphasized that this satellite was launched to advance Turkey’s independence in space by building a national global positioning system.
Fergani Space’s main goal is to deploy more than 100 satellites within five years and to independently provide the Uluğ Bey Global Positioning System service to Turkey and all friendly and allied regions.
Orbital Transfer Vehicle Included in Future Projects
Bayraktar noted that in the coming days, the orbital transfer vehicle developed by Fergani’s engineering team will also be launched. This vehicle will carry a small test satellite and contribute to further development efforts. He also stated that the teams continue to design launch vehicles to achieve independent access to space.
In light of these developments, Selçuk Bayraktar expressed his belief that the capability for space independence will be achieved over time on behalf of all friendly nations and regions, concluding with the words:
