A source told Russian news agency TASS that the modernized platform, whose ground and flight tests have been completed, would make its first flight in the 4th quarter of 2021. The production line of the Tu -160s was reopened under Russian President Putin.
The modernized Tu-160M Igor Sikorsky made its first test flight last February and stayed in the air for about two hours at an altitude of 6,000 meters.
