Saudi Arabia’s Science Technology has partnered with Republic of Korea-based Hanwha Defence to jointly produce new K30 Biho (Flying Tiger) II air defence systems.
Saudi Arabia, which has a goal of producing 50% of its defence equipment by 2030, will be involved in the production of a new variant of its air defence system. Science Technology said the hybrid K30 Biho mobile air defence system, two 30 mm pistols, successfully completed trials in Saudi Arabia.
Equipped with a 30 mm gun for Korea’s need for a self-propelled anti-aircraft defence system, Biho first entered inventory in 1999.
