Portugal has partnered with the ATL-100 multipurpose aircraft project, where Brazil-based Desenvolvimento Aeronáutico (DESAER) continues to work. The collaboration, which includes the development, production and marketing of the platform, will be carried out with the Portuguese engineering and product development centre, CEiiA.

The aircraft, which will have civilian and military variants, will be able to carry out operations such as logistical support, search and rescue, maritime patrol, border control and medical evacuation.

The ATL-100 offers 7,500 kg maximum take-off weight, 380 km/h cruising speed and 2,500 kg maximum payload.
