Estonia-based Milrem Robotics, which has recently come up with a product range in the field of unmanned land vehicles (IKA), has recently collaborated to expand its field of study. In this context, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), part of the German-French defence technology group KNDS, which provides main battle tank and combat system solutions, acquired a 24.9% stake in Milrem Robotics.
Both companies announced that they will work together in the development of the European Center of Excellence for Military Robotics. The parties express their partnership as providing innovative solutions to meet the requirements of future military missions, including the interaction of manned and unmanned systems.
KMW is working with Nexter and Rheinmetall on the Main Ground Combat System (MGCS), developed in partnership with Germany and France.
Milrem Robotics officials believe that cooperation with KMW will positively affect their position in the European market.
