Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) announced that it has begun considering various options for the supply of 8×8 armoured vehicles. The request is expected to become official through tender by July.
Excalibur and Mowag from Europe and Otokar from Turkey have offered vehicles to Kenya, According to African media reports.
It was stated that Otokar proposed the ARMA 8X8. Swiss firm Mowag has reportedly offered Kenya its 8× 8 Piranha series.
Last year, the KDF said it needed new armoured vehicles to better manage the war against the terrorist group Al-Shabaab in Somalia.
