Images of the new long-range, wide-body Kaman-22 drone developed by Iran have been shared. Aziz Nasirzadeh, commander of the country’s Air Force, said the first wide-body combat drone, manufactured by local experts, had a range of 3,000km.
The aerial vehicle, which is indicated to have been developed by local sources, has 24-hour flight durability. It was reported that the drone was equipped with optical and electronic warfare systems.
It was announced in the Iranian press that the Kaman-22 would be a new version of the Kaman-12 platform, which was first introduced in September last year.
Kaman-22 has a useful load capacity of 300 kilograms. Iran is expected to use Kaman-22 in a series of operations, including patrols, reconnaissance, data collection and air combat.
