The Hungarian Ministry of Defense, the Hungarian Armed Forces, and 4iG Space and Defence Technologies have signed a strategic contract for the production of 800 Gidrán armored vehicles. The ceremony took place in the presence of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor ORBÁN. With this, defense industry cooperation between Turkey and Hungary has reached a new level.
A Domestic Production Initiative of 800 Vehicles
Under the contract, Nurol Makina’s Gidrán vehicles with high protection capacity are planned to be produced in Hungary. In addition, the aim is to sustainably meet the needs of the Hungarian Armed Forces. In a statement regarding the matter, Nurol Makina expressed pride in providing high added value to Turkey–Hungary relations at the strategic partner level in the defense industry. The company also emphasized the pride in positively representing Türkiye.
Ceremony Participants
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Budapest, Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, and was represented by a senior delegation from Nurol Holding and Nurol Makina.


At the ceremony, on behalf of Nurol Holding, Vice Chairman of the Board M. Oğuz Çarmıklı and Board Member Gürol Çarmıklı were present. Additionally, on behalf of Nurol Makina, General Manager Engin Aykol attended. Deputy General Manager of European Operations Emre Akın was also present. Moreover, Nurol Makina Hungary General Manager, who is also the CEO of Gidrán Armoured Vehicles, Mehmet Atak, attended the event.
